CHS Athletics Spectator Policy

TVUSD SPECTATOR GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOL ATHLETIC EVENTS – Stadiums, Gyms, Fields, and Performing Arts Centers
In an effort to make TVUSD high school athletic events and games safe and enjoyable for all spectators, the following guidelines for all spectators in attendance are to be followed.
GUIDELINES FOR ALL SPECTATORS:
- School rules apply and cooperation is expected with all game workers and school personnel. Failure to follow rules or lack of cooperation will result in removal from the event.
- All interactions with players, coaches, spectators, and officials should be positive. Derogatory comments towards any member of this group is strongly discouraged. Continued unfavorable interactions could result in removal from the event.
- All spectator bags will/can be checked by game workers before entering the event.
- All spectators are discouraged from bringing large backpacks. Game workers may request to confiscate backpacks and store during the event. It is recommended that spectators place personal items in clear plastic bags for entry.
- School-specific spirit wear is encouraged: Pennants, Number 1 Fingers, Foam Noodles, Pom Poms, etc., may be permitted.
- Spectators are not allowed to bring items with sharp edges, poles, sticks, etc., that could cause a safety concern.
- Spectators are not allowed to bring items such as balls, skateboards, or bikes into the stadium, Gym, or PAC.
- No pets are allowed inside any venue on campus unless they are designated and approved service dogs.
- No outside food or drink is allowed. Concessions are available inside the stadium.
- NO LOITERING around unauthorized areas of the stadium.
- No Banners - No Signs – No Flags – These obstruct game workers' view from properly supervising spectators in the stands.
- No Noisemakers - all types of noisemakers are prohibited. This includes plastic hand shakers, thunder sticks, as well as all sorts of projectiles.
- Paper confetti and silly string are prohibited because they are difficult to clean up in addition to being a fire hazard. Colored cornstarch is also prohibited as it clogs drains.
- Balloons are prohibited.
- Megaphones are prohibited except when used by a cheerleader.
- Musical instruments are prohibited except when the band is performing.
- Individual spectator stereo and related radio equipment are prohibited.
- Laser pointers are prohibited. If used, the laser pointers will be permanently confiscated.
- All spectators must wear shirts. Bodypaint and full face paint are not allowed. Partial face paint with decals, school colors, school logos, etc., are allowed.
- Gambling and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- No smoking, e-cigs, or vaping is allowed.
- No moshing in the stands.
