About AP

This is a program of college-level courses and exams for secondary school students. Over 90 percent of the colleges in the U.S. give credit and/or advance placement to students whose AP examination grades are considered acceptable. AP exams are administered every year in May. The fee for 2013 is $89.00 for each exam and is due in full by Friday, March 8, at the bookkeeper's office or online.  College Board reduced fees plus additional sources are available for those who qualify to reduce the costs to $28 per exam. Documentation (such as approved Free or Reduced Meals letter) must be provided in order to pay the reduced fee.  The following AP courses are offered: AP Biology, AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Chemistry, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literarture and Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP European History, AP US Government and Politics, AP Human Geography, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP Music Theory, AP Physics B, AP Pscyhology, AP Spanish Language, AP Studio Art, AP Statistics, and AP US History.

Please read the Parent/Guardian Letter for January 2013 for more details.

Reduced Fee Exams

Fees for AP Exams may be reduced for low-income families.  To request a fee reduction, the student must present a copy of the APPROVED letter for Free and Reduced Price Meals to the AP Coordinator before school or during break and complete the required paperwork to submit to the bookkeeper to pay the reduced fee.  Paperwork must be signed by a parent/guardian.  Please note that you must apply for Free or Reduced Price Meals through the District.  This may take up to 10 days to process.  Please see January 2013 parent/guardian letter for guidelines.
